As a country with one of the lowest levels of educational attainment in the Western Hemisphere — and some of the poorest outcomes — Haiti urgently needs to improve its education sector. Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world. It gives you the power to create a better future, which is why education must be considered paramount to improve Haiti’s social, economic, and political turmoil. Since most of their institutions are private, they lack a robust public education system that continues to deny many children the access they deserve. There are many reasons for this: poor infrastructure, high youth unemployment, and limited resources to pay teachers’ salaries. Without proper education, we’re cutting off millions of children from potentially leading their countries — and the world — into better futures. True Shepherd Foundation seeks to change that.
